Faversham – The Small Town That Loves To Hold Big Events!

Faversham Hop Festival, the South East’s largest free street festival

Faversham Hop Festival is taking place on 31st August and 1st September in Faversham’s beautiful, historic town centre. It’s the region’s biggest free street festival and attracts people from far and wide – many taking advantage of the Festival’s campsite at the nearby Abbey School.

Visitors are attracted to the best of local live music with over 60 acts providing over 7-hours of live music across five stages. Steeped in hop harvest tradition, there’s plenty of other entertainment including Morris Dancers and street processions.

Faversham is a market town and there will be many stalls selling the best local food, drink, arts and crafts along with the town centre’s small, independent shops, bars and cafes – many of which are open during the festival.

Events in Faversham this summer

Faversham is well known for its headline events – holding several throughout the summer. In addition to the Hop Festival the town is holding its Nautical Festival on the 6th & 7th July celebrating Faversham Creek and the town’s nautical heritage. Faversham Open Houses - where the curious can explore Faversham’s fascinating historic private houses will - takes place on 6, 13 & 20th July with Open Gardens & Garden Market Day on 30th June. Faversham Market’s Midsummer Night’s Feast is a celebration of live music, street food and good times and will be held in Faversham Market Place on the evening of 22nd June.

Not forgetting Faversham's weekly markets which take place every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday; the Best of Faversham Markets selling the best of local food, drink, produce, gifts, arts and crafts on the first and third Saturday of the month and Faversham Antiques & Vintage Market, the country's largest town centre antiques market, taking place on the first Sunday of every month (apart from September when it's the Hop Festival).
