EVERYDAY FUN IN FAVERSHAM

On those days when there isn’t a workshop or event that takes your fancy, you’ll find there are still plenty of great places around Faversham to visit and enjoy.  

Abbey Community Physic Garden, Abbey Place, Faversham
An oasis of beauty, nature and tranquillity just a short walk from the town centre - close to St Mary of Charity Church and the Elizabethan Grammar School.  With sculptures, ponds, paths and green spaces – it’s a perfect place for people of all ages. Clever Dilemma, Preston Street, Faversham
Clever Dilemma is currently offering two different escape room games – ‘Dracula’s Chambers’ and brand new for this summer ‘Murder at the Wild West Quest Saloon’.  Games are designed to challenge, engage and encourage players to work together to unravel the mysteries of the room.  A short walk from Faversham train station, Clever Dilemma is ideal for those who don’t drive.  Also, a great idea for rainy days! Faversham Activity Centre
All kids love to play!  Faversham Activity Centre boasts a great indoor play area with slides and ball pools galore.  Literally two minutes’ walk away is Faversham Recreation ground with its newly refurbished outdoor play areas for both younger and older children. Faversham Markets
If you’re visiting Faversham on a Tuesday, Friday or Saturday – then you can pop along to Faversham Market too.  The Charter Market operates all three days a week in the Market Place, there’s also a Best of Faversham Market offering local arts, crafts and produce on the first and third Saturday of the month, based in Preston Street.  If antiques are your thing, visit the Antiques & Vintage Market in the Market Place on the first Sunday of every month (although there’s no market on 1stSeptember due to the Hop Festival).  See www.favershammarket.org for details.

Faversham Pools
Dive into one of Faversham’s most popular tourist attractions! Throughout the school holidays, Faversham’s outdoor pools are open from 9am - 6.45pm (6pm at weekends) with evening swimming on Thursdays until 7.30pm. Do not let the small frontage to the Museum on Preston Street deceive you – there is plenty to learn about this unique historic town! If you’re into animals which are small, cute and fluffy – then you’re going to love Huckleberry Woods.  They have micro pigs, miniature ducks and gorgeous alpacas just waiting for you too book the opportunity to take them for a stroll! 
New this summer, they also have Teddy Bear lamb experiences. Three miniature Southdown lambs (famous for their cute teddy bear faces) have been harness-trained and love being taken for a walk in the orchard. The lambs are very gentle, so this experience is suitable for ages from 18 months.

Oare Gunpowder Works, Oare
Oare Gunpowder Works is the idea place to relax, enjoy wildlife and discover history. Children love the crumbling old buildings, wooden walkways, streams, ponds, trees and abundance of wildlife. Dogs welcome on a lead.  The perfect place to bring a picnic and stay a while. Entry is free. The Royal Cinema, Market Place, Faversham

If you’re looking for somewhere to take a walk amongst the beautiful Kentish Downs, or Perry Woods (which is very popular amongst families) – then why not pay a visit to Selling?  The White Lion offers a family-friendly lunch in a proper country pub – perfect when you’ve built up an appetite.
